Big work,
drawn slowly
Marcus founded Cindervane in 1999 after five years guesting across London and New York. His blackwork is architectural — heavy blacks balanced with open skin, mythic figures that wrap the body's lines instead of fighting them.
He books multi-session projects only: half sleeves and up, with a drawing phase you approve before the first line goes in. Waiting list runs six to ten weeks — worth it, his clients say, for work that still reads across a room in twenty years.
- Full and half sleeves, back pieces, bodysuits
- Mythic, Japanese-influenced and ornamental blackwork
- Free touch-up check at eight weeks, always
“Marcus talked me out of the small version and drew the big one I actually wanted. Strangers stop me for this sleeve.”— Paul Willis, client since 2021
